DoubleTree by Hilton Opens Upscale Western Arkansas Hotel Following a Multimillion Dollar Transformation

DoubleTree by Hilton Fort Smith City Center Complements Convention Center with Inviting Lodging Near Area Businesses and Attraction

November 01, 2016 // Franchising.com // FORT SMITH, Ark. and MCLEAN, Va. – DoubleTree by Hilton, one of Hilton’s (NYSE: HLT) 13 market-leading brands, announces the opening of its first property in Arkansas' second largest city, following a multimillion dollar renovation.

DoubleTree by Hilton Fort Smith City Center is connected to and complements the Fort Smith Convention Center, offering 255 upscale, contemporary guest rooms in a nine-story, atrium-style hotel distinguished by a five-story waterfall cascading into the lobby. Located in the heart of downtown, the property is just five miles from Fort Smith Municipal Airport and a short walk to numerous area businesses and historic attractions, such as the Museum of History, the outdoor Trolley Car Museum and pleasant walking trails along the Arkansas River.

Upon arrival, guests receive the signature DoubleTree by Hilton Chocolate Chip Cookie welcome, an indulgence they can enjoy while settling into a stylish guest room or suite. All rooms are designed with guest comfort in mind, as they feature complimentary Wi-Fi access, an ergonomic work station, black-out curtains and premium DoubleTree Sweet Dreams® Sleep Experience beds. All rooms come with interior balconies for dramatic views of the beautiful five-story cascading waterfall, open lobby restaurant and lounge.

Custom artwork is evident throughout the hotel, including unique sculptures on the back wall of the reception desk that reflect the annual butterfly migration through Fort Smith each fall. Another highlight of the atrium-style lobby is 1817 Grille, a restaurant with a refreshing menu peppered with regional cuisine that draws on the richness and freshness of local ingredients. With the waterfall as its backdrop, The Tap Room offers an assortment of drinks and signature cocktails in a space equipped with screens for watching sports or the latest entertainment. Takeout and room service are also available; or, guests may pick up snacks, sandwiches, salads, beer and wine in the convenient onsite 24-hour Made Market Pantry.

DoubleTree by Hilton Fort Smith City Center also provides more than 17,000 square feet of column-free, on-site meeting space, including a 10,656-square-foot grand ballroom. When combined with the connecting convention center, the property provides an additional 47,000 square feet of space that can accommodate up to 4,500 people for conferences, banquets or other large events. State-of-the-art AV equipment and services are available in addition to a fully-equipped 24-hour business center.
