Slurpee® Slurp4Good™ Campaign Benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®

7-Eleven joins 13th Annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign

IRVING, Texas - Nov. 15, 2016 // PRNewswire // - 7-Eleven, Inc., has launched a national Slurpee® Slurp4Good™ fundraising campaign to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and its mission of finding cures and saving children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. During the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, 7-Eleven® will donate 11 cents per large Slurpee drink sold from Nov. 9 through Jan. 3, up to $200,000.

Funds raised through these efforts help ensure no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Earlier this year, the 7-Eleven Slurpee truck made a stop at St. Jude in Memphis to bring hospital patients and their families a summer block party. Ena Williams, senior vice president of 7-Eleven, saw firsthand that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was a special place and the positive effect it has on the children. .

"Slurp4Good is a great opportunity for 7-Eleven stores and their customers to support St. Jude and its mission of fighting childhood cancers," Williams said. "Everyone loves Slurpee drinks, especially the kids at St. Jude. When we took our mobile Slurpee stand to the hospital and gave away free drinks, it was a special treat for the children and a heart-warming experience for us. Our Franchisees are active supporters of St. Jude, and we want to help them support this worthy cause to end childhood cancer."

Created 13 years ago by Marlo, Terre and Tony Thomas – children of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas – the St. Jude Thanks and Givingcampaign asks people to "give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not."

"We are thrilled that 7-Eleven has joined the St. Jude family," said Marlo Thomas, National Outreach Director for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "Their extraordinary commitment and participation in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign is helping to provide the critical funds and awareness so St. Jude can continue to be a beacon of hope for children in communities everywhere."
