Closet & Storage Concepts/More Space Place® CEO Bob Lewis Named Among 2016 Wood Industry Market Leaders by Woodworking Network
Recognition Crowns Strong Year for Company
December 01, 2016 // Franchising.com // West Berlin, NJ - Woodworking Network has named Bob Lewis, President and CEO of Closet & Storage Concepts / More Space Place, among the 2016 Wood Industry Market Leaders. The recognition comes on the heels of an exceptionally strong year for the company, which designs, manufactures and installs a variety of custom closet, Murphy wall-bed, home storage and space-saving solutions.
“Woodworking is integral to what we do at Closet & Storage Concepts / More Space Place,” said Lewis, who was asked to speak at the International Woodworking Fair in August in Atlanta, Georgia. “It’s a tremendous honor to be included on the list with such a well-respected group of industry leaders.”
Individual unit performance metrics are up across the Closet & Storage Concepts / More Space Place system for 2016, and the company has successfully completed the integration of its 2013 acquisition of More Space Place, America’s #1 retailer of the Murphy bed. Over the past three years, the More Space Place stores have doubled their average unit volume, and the More Space Place brand’s Clearwater, Florida-based manufacturing is up dramatically.
In 2016, the company opened two new Closet & Storage Concepts franchise locations, including one in Modesto, California, and the company’s second showroom-only store in northern New Jersey. The new showroom-only franchise model gives new franchise owners a quicker, lower-cost startup option by outsourcing the manufacturing component to other Closet & Storage Concepts locations. A new More Space Place store is also in development in Greenville, South Carolina.
“My outlook for the company’s future has never been more optimistic in 30 years,” said Lewis. “I feel good about where we are and where we’re headed.”
In April 2017, Lewis will present on the current state of the space-saving home furnishings industry at the Cabinets and Closets Conference and Expo in Chicago.
Closet & Storage Concepts / More Space Place has more than 400 employees and 39 locations nationwide, positioning the company as one of the largest in the space-saving home furnishings & improvement industry. Earlier in 2016, Closet & Storage Concepts / More Space Place made the Franchise Times’ “Fast and Serious” list of the smartest growing brands, ranking sixteenth among franchises with system-wide sales over $40 million. The organization was the only representative from the home improvement category in the field of forty.
