Quick-Serve Restaurant Franchise #GetFried Fry Café Gains Momentum With New Deals in Texas and New York

On-the-Go Consumers Drive Demand for Franchise Opportunity

BUFFALO, N.Y. - January 11, 2017 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - #getfried Fry Café, a quick-serve restaurant franchise that offers a variety of topped French fries and finger foods, is expanding its presence through the sale of three new franchises in Houston, TX; Buffalo, NY and New York City.

“Consumers are increasingly seeking quick, customizable food options, and with the relatively small footprint and non-traditional location options the Get Fried franchise opportunity offers, we’ve seen high demand from prospective franchisees who want to help us grow the brand,” said Chris Covelli, founder of #getfried.

#getfried is known for its gourmet topped French fries, which all start with one of six styles of fries that are personalized with more than 20 sauce and seasoning options. In addition to allowing guests to build their own creation, the brand offers signature baskets like the ‘716’, made with shredded chicken, buffalo sauce and blue cheese, and other finger food favorites such as chicken fingers. #getfried also recently introduced Dutch-style frites that are served in a paper cone, a nod to the culture that inspired the concept.

Growth in the coming months will be driven by several new franchise agreements, including one with MOVE Systems that will debut a food cart in New York City on Jan. 18. Additionally, a joint venture with Franchise Development Group is set to bring a food truck to Buffalo, NY, and an agreement in Houston, TX will introduce a brick-and-mortar #getfried location to the Marq-E Entertainment Center later this year.

“Get Fried is a unique concept with significant growth potential because of the versatility of its business model,” said Shahid Mahmood, who will own the Houston-area location. Mahmood, a Pakistan native, has nearly 30 years of entrepreneurial experience. “I’m looking forward to opening a Get Fried in Houston and positively impacting the community for many years to come.”

Jeffrey Hoffman, Vice President and General Counsel for MOVE Systems, adds, “Our partnership with Get Fried will bring a rather unique mobile food offering to New York City. In addition to capturing the gourmet topped French fry market in the city via traditional sidewalk locations, our aim is to satiate an entirely new market demand by deploying our #getfried carts in bars across the five boroughs that don’t currently offer food options to their patrons.”

There are currently two corporate #getfried locations in Western New York, and one food truck franchise in San Antonio, TX. In addition to international growth, the quick-serve chain is focused on domestic expansion, specifically targeting college towns and campuses throughout the Northeast region, and major cities such as Las Vegas, Atlanta, Miami and New York City.
