Front Burner Brands General Counsel Wins Tampa Bay Area Corporate Counsel Award

Tampa Bay Business Journal Honors Bud Culp in Multiple Categories

April 03, 2017 // Franchising.com // TAMPA, Fla. - Front Burner Brands, Inc., restaurant management company for premier fondue restaurant franchise, The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc., announced today that its General Counsel, Bud Culp, has been named the Tampa Bay Business Journal's 2017 Top Corporate Counsel. Culp was also recognized in the individual category for Chief Legal Officer or General Counsel. The awards ceremony took place on March 15 at the Westshore Grand in Tampa and recognized 15 of the area's most respected legal professionals.

Since joining Front Burner Brands in 2014, Culp has been responsible for all legal matters arising in the company's domestic and international restaurant business, including corporate, franchise disclosure and registration, contracts, intellectual property, employment, mergers and acquisitions and litigation management. His decision to bring in the brand's main sources of expenditure in-house has resulted in Front Burner Brand's legal spend to be reduced by 85 percent.

In addition, Culp has played an integral role for Front Burner Brand's restaurant development and acquisition in markets such as Mobile, Alabama; Pensacola, Florida; and Louisville, Kentucky. Most recently, Culp designed and implemented The Melting Pot's "Path to Grow" financing program, which enables Melting Pot franchisees to sell their restaurants to their best managers, who would otherwise be without the financial resources necessary to own their own businesses.
