Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in 1997 by lifelong friends Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz with the goal of providing delicious, readily available bundt cakes made with real, fresh ingredients. After adopting a franchise model in 2007, Mara Fortin became the first bakery owner for the brand under the guidance of Tripp and Shwetz with the opening of her bakery in Poway, California.
Since then, Nothing Bundt Cakes has grown exponentially to 200 locations in 32 states. The 200th bakery recently opened its doors in Grand Rapids, the first Michigan location for the brand. The team celebrated locally by giving away free bundtlets for a year (one per month) to its first 200 guests, and as a continuation of its celebration nationally, gave away multiple $200 gift cards on social media. Nothing Bundt Cakes plans to open at least 40 new bakeries in 2017 as part of an aggressive growth strategy that has seen a 33.6 percent store growth year over year since 2014.
