Griswold Home Care Named AAFD’s “Franchisor of the Year”

“Groundbreaking” Franchise Agreements Inspired the Honor for the Company, Which is Celebrating its 35th Anniversary

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA (PRWEB) May 04, 2017 - Griswold Home Care, a national provider of services to help adults age in place, has been recognized as “Franchisor of the Year” for 2017, by the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers (AAFD). The AAFD bestowed the honor largely because Griswold negotiated new franchise agreements last year that “affirm a commitment to a common mission and shared guiding principles with its franchisees,” the organization said.

Griswold, which this year marks its 35th anniversary, currently has more than 200 offices in 32 states, the vast majority of which are independent franchises. The franchise agreements, which the AAFD called “groundbreaking,” were predicated on fostering mutual respect and cooperation between the corporate office of Griswold and the Griswold Home Care Franchise Association (GHCFA) for the purpose of “a long-term durable relationship.”

“Griswold Home Care is honored to receive such a distinction and to be recognized for all the work that went into 18 months of negotiation and collaboration with our franchisees and the GHCFA last year,” said Griswold Home Care CEO Matt Murphy. “We want to be known as a franchisor that treats our franchisees with fairness and respect, and I believe this award will help us stand out among other franchisors in our industry.”

Since its launch in 1982, Griswold has grown into one of the largest and most successful non-medical homecare providers in the country. The company connects families with thoroughly screened caregivers that provide a variety of services, including homemaking services, hospice care, live-in care, and respite care to clients, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and individuals managing and/or recovering from illnesses and injuries.

“The AAFD is pleased to give praise to Griswold and its CEO, Matt Murphy, for engaging Griswold franchisees and the GHCFA to redefine its business model,” said AAFD Chairman Robert Purvin. “The AAFD is honored to place Griswold Home Care on our pedestal to recognize great franchising.”

Murphy accepted the award during the AAFD’s Total Quality Franchising Awards Celebration, part of the AAFD’s 25th Anniversary Franchisee Leadership Summit April 30 to May 3 at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort and Spa in Indian Wells, California.
