May 04, 2017 // Franchising.com // DALLAS – Nothing Bundt Cakes, a national franchise bakery concept that serves premium-quality bundt cakes available in a variety of sizes and classic flavors, has announced the addition of Steve McGehee as Chief Marketing Officer and Bill Schaffler as Chief Financial Officer for the brand. These new executives will strengthen the support provided to current bakeries, as well as contribute to the growth into new markets and expansion of its current footprint in both the U.S. and Canada.
McGehee has 20 plus years in both marketing and advertising, more within the foodservice industry. He began his career at PepsiCo/Yum! Brands and has also worked with Sonic Drive-In and the California Milk Advisory Board, where he led brand communication and strategy. At Nothing Bundt Cakes, he is charged with leading the brand’s marketing vision and strategy, including planning, development and implementation of all marketing programs.
Schaffler has been a financial and operational leader in fast casual and casual dining for more than 20 years. Most recently he served as CFO for Newk’s Eatery and Executive Vice President & CFO at Le Duff America - parent company of La Madeleine, Bruegger’s and Mimi’s Café brands, where he led the integration, repositioning and financial oversight of Le Duff’s newly acquired brands. In his new role with Nothing Bundt Cakes, he will oversee financial management and business intelligence for Nothing Bundt Cakes’ bakery owners and technology innovation.
Nothing Bundt Cakes has doubled in size over the past two and a half years and has set an aggressive growth strategy of 40 new bakeries in 2017. This growth, coupled with brand milestones such as the opening of the 200th bakery location in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the 10th anniversary of the first franchised bakery, led the team to seek two additions to complement its executive team.
