BRUNSWICK, Ga. - May 8, 2017 // PRNewswire // - FirstLight Home Care, an award-winning provider of non-medical home care, announced that Debbie Owens of the Brunswick, Georgia, location has been awarded the national Caregiver of the Year for 2016. The Brunswick franchise location is owned by Eric Friedrich II. Owens was one of several award winners recognized at the FirstLight Home Care national franchise convention in Nashville, Tennessee, last week.
Owens was selected because of her optimistic outlook and her amazing work ethic, according to her nomination narrative. She demonstrated her service-before-self attitude during Hurricane Matthew. Owens made the decision to stay with her clients during the mandatory evacuation instead of evacuating with her own family. Owens was also recognized by the family of one of her clients for her "exceptionally big heart."
