9Round Celebrates Its Nine-Year Anniversary and Exceptional Worldwide Growth

Since the company’s inception in 2008, 9Round has quickly become an international brand operating more than 500 locations in 40 states and 11 countries.

“We have grown exponentially over the past nine years, achieving more than $60 million in annual sales and creating over 2,500 jobs,” says Shannon Hudson, CEO and founder, 9Round. “We have big plans for our company and we are more driven and focused than ever before. Our goal is to achieve 1,000 open locations by the end of 2018.”

Hudson, a former professional kickboxer and Light Middleweight Kickboxing Champion of the World, founded 9Round with his wife Heather. Together they have worked to bring specialized kickboxing fitness and training to the average person in way that’s affordable, convenient and fun. There are no class times, trainers are always on site to lead the workouts, and routines change daily, giving members a fresh workout every time they come in.

“I’m very proud of building 9Round with my husband, but I’m also very proud of what our brand represents,” says Heather Hudson, COO, 9Round. “9Round represents empowerment for people of all fitness levels. That’s a role I take very seriously and feel honored to carry.”

9Round workouts consist of nine, three-minute stations of activities that include cardio, weight training, core exercises and kicks and punches on 100-pound, double-end, upper cut and speed bags. A real boxing bell rings to begin the workout, another to warn the station is ending and a third to signal the end. Members have a 30-second active break between.

“9Round is much more than just a gym,” adds Heather. “Every day, we are helping people fight their fight, whatever that may be. One round, one workout, one day at a time. The reality is, not everyone needs to lose weight, but I think everyone needs 9Round!”

Additionally, over the past nine years, 9Round has won more than 50 industry awards. Recently, the company was ranked number 121 on Entrepreneur’s 2017 Franchise 500 list. The Hudsons attribute a large part of the company’s success to high standards and a solid work ethic.
