Griswold Home Care Ramps Up Franchise Development

The Company’s New Prospecting Site Comes on the Heels of Its Groundbreaking New Franchise Agreement

September 15, 2017 // Franchising.com // PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - Griswold Home Care, a national provider of services to help adults age in place, has begun actively recruiting new franchise directors after a pause of more than three years. Key to the effort is a just-launched franchise development website,www.griswoldhomecarefranchise.com.

Griswold, which marks its 35th anniversary this year, currently has more than 100 franchise directors and 200 offices in 32 states, in addition to several corporate-owned offices. The company stopped franchise prospecting in July 2014 amid changing industry regulations and a desire to create a new, more equitable franchising agreement with its existing franchises. The new contract, finalized in late 2016, has been lauded by the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers (AAFD) as “groundbreaking,” and earned Griswold its honor of 2017 Franchisor of the Year.

“There was much uncertainty, both in terms of where the industry was going from a regulatory standpoint and our own relationship with the Griswold Home Care Franchise Association, so we felt we needed to take a break from bringing new franchises on board until this all played out,” said Griswold CEO Matt Murphy. “We used that time to make sure we were in compliance with Department of Labor mandates and to hammer out a more durable franchise agreement that was more focused on their success.”

The new franchise development site includes information and resources for prospective directors along with corporate news, a short company history, the background of founder Jean Griswold, financial information, and testimonials from some of Griswold’s successful directors.

“We think this site gives a good overview of what we stand for, and the information prospects need as they begin the process,” said Mike Magid, Griswold’s Chief Operating Officer. “Homecare isn’t just a business opportunity like IT or cutting hair; it’s more of a calling. So we’re looking for people who want to combine commerce and compassion.”
