Wag N’ Wash Natural Food & Bakery Donates Over $4,000 to Houston Humane Society

September 25, 2017 // Franchising.com // DENVER – In an effort to help the animal victims of Hurricane Harvey, Wag N’ Wash Natural Food and Bakery has donated $4,013 to the Houston Humane Society, a non-profit Pet Rescue, Pet Adoption, and Animal Shelter dedicated to, and working towards, ending cruelty, abuse and the overpopulation of animals while providing the highest quality of life to those in their care.

From September 9-10, $5 of every self-wash was donated to the Houston Humane Society. The participating Wag N’ Wash locations included: Littleton, Castle Rock, all three Colorado Springs stores, and Seattle/Queen Anne. Together, the stores saw 638 washes and also took in $185 in additional donations.

“We are grateful to have had the opportunity give back during this time. We are even more thankful for our customers who helped us support such a great organization and cause,” said Dan Remus, Co-Founder of Wag N’ Wash. “Animals across Houston were displaced on a large scale and horrifically affected by Hurricane Harvey. This was the very least we could do to help.”

Supporting local non-profits who share the company’s mission of enhancing the quality of life for companion pets and their guardians is nothing new to Wag N’ Wash. With in-kind donations, Wag N’ Wash helps these groups raise money through various initiatives such as raffles and auctions. In 2016 alone, Wag N’ Wash stores donated over $100,000 worth of gourmet biscuits, all-natural pet food, free washes, free merchandise and monetary donations back to their communities. In addition, Wag N’ Wash works with local rescue groups and has single-handedly been responsible for the adoption of more than 2,100 cats and dogs through its adoption fairs.

“During natural disasters many animals are separated from their owners. The Houston Humane Society will provide these animals with a safe environment and high quality of life all while trying to find them a permanent home,” Remus added. “Wag N’ Wash shares these same values as our main mission is to improve the lives of companion animals and help them transition to a much healthier lifestyle.”
