October 02, 2017 // Franchising.com // CALGARY, Alberta - The leader in performance-based music education, School of Rock, is proud to announce the opening of its newest school in Calgary, Alberta in Canada. The new school will be located at Suite 321 10820 24th Street SE. School of Rock Calgary South will celebrate its grand opening with a rockin’ party held October 14 from noon to 4 p.m.. Attendees are invited to enjoy live music demonstrations from School of Rock house bands, a ceremonial guitar-smashing, special offers, trial lessons, prizes, food and games.
School of Rock provides students of all ages a unique learning environment to develop skills on a variety of instruments including guitar, vocals, keyboard, bass and drums. Drawing on their own experience as touring musicians, School of Rock instructors teach students the legendary theories and tunes of timeless rock artists such as AC/DC and Frank Zappa. This performance-based approach has advanced students around the world with confidence and superior instrumental repertoire, propelling some to platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.
The newest School of Rock franchisee, Paul Toth, will co-own the School of Rock Calgary South with veteran School of Rock Calgary franchisee Bryan Schaefer, who opened Calgary’s first location just over one year ago. Paul is a long-time fan of the music school concept, but ultimately decided to open his own location after seeing the results of his teenage son’s drumming classes at the School of Rock Calgary.
“My son had been in school band classes for years, but after two weeks at School of Rock he transformed into an elite drummer that couldn’t wait to go to class each week. There’s something unique about the School of Rock - the kids don’t want to let down their friends and bandmates,” said School of Rock Calgary South franchisee Paul Toth. “I had known about the School of Rock for a while, and after Bryan opened his first location I wanted to get in on the excitement as soon as possible.”
“Bryan’s experience successfully opening the first Calgary School combined with Paul’s time as a School of Rock parent is a recipe for success. Most importantly, however, Paul and Bryan are extremely passionate about the concept, which is the best qualification you can bring to any business.” said School of Rock CEO, Rob Price. “We can’t wait to see what the School of Rock’s unique programs and offerings brings to the southern neighborhoods of Calgary.”
