October 06, 2017 // Franchising.com // LIVONIA, Mich. – In the aftermath of the horrific hurricane that powered its way through Puerto Rico in late September, Pet Supplies Plus has announced it will send supplies to the island to help the pet victims of the storm.
Hurricane Maria left many animal rescue facilities in dire need of goods and the national neighborhood pet retailer responded by sending a total of 26 pallets to Guardians of Rescue in Doral, Florida, which will then distribute the supplies to Puerto Rico. Included in the shipment are 1,656 packs of toilet pads, 500 bags of dog food, 360 crate mats and dog beds and 60 crates.
“We are heartbroken to see the number of people and pets without homes after Hurricane Maria and we want to help in any way that we can,” said Pet Supplies Plus CEO Chris Rowland. “Food and supplies are on its way from our distribution center in Indiana and we certainly hope we’ll be able to help keep pets safe and healthy during these trying times.”
Pet Supplies Plus stores, team members and franchisees are also supporting relief efforts for Hurricane Maria, Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey by giving their own time in their local communities and by setting up spots for monetary and supply donations to be made.
