Dunkin’ Donuts Announces Plans For Four New Restaurants In Rochester With Existing Franchisee, Donut Kings, LLC

First Restaurant Under New Store Development Agreement Planned To Open In 2019

October 10, 2017 // Franchising.com // CANTON, MA - Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, announced the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement to establish four Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Rochester, Minnesota market with existing franchisee Donut Kings, LLC. The group’s first restaurant under this agreement is planned to open in 2019.

Owners of Donut Kings, LLC, Oliver Schugel and David Schooff, signed an agreement last year to open three Dunkin’ Donuts locations in the Mankato, Minnesota area. The first of these locations opened in March of this year. Oliver brings 25 years of business development, financial analysis, and multi-functional management and operations experience to the table, while David has 20 years of real estate development, strategic planning, and market knowledge in the area. James Trauger, who has several years of multi-unit retail experience, will serve as the operating partner during the expansion.

“We are excited to continue developing the Dunkin’ Donuts brand in the Rochester area. The team we’ve formed has a proven track record in multi-unit restaurant development and we’re looking forward to our next phase of openings beginning in 2019,” said Oliver Schugel, owner of Donut Kings, LLC. “As we expand throughout Rochester over the next several years, we hope to attract new customers, as well as longtime fans of the brand, and show them the premium products and quality service we have to offer.”

There are currently five Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants located in Minnesota, all of which serve the brand’s delicious menu of beverages and food. The company is continuing to recruit qualified franchisees in the Duluth, Minnesota region. To help fuel additional growth in the market, special development incentives are available.

“Dunkin’ Donuts’ growth would not be possible without the continued support of our existing franchisees, who continue to demonstrate their high confidence in our brand and world-class support team,” said Grant Benson, CFE, Senior Vice President of franchising and development, Dunkin’ Brands. “Our hard-working and dedicated franchisees bring the Dunkin’ Donuts brand, products and promotions to life each and every day, and have been essential to our growth over the years.”

In an effort to keep the brand fresh and competitive, Dunkin' Donuts offers flexible concepts for any real estate format including free-standing restaurants, end caps, in-line sites, gas and convenience, travel plazas and universities, as well as other retail environments.

Dunkin' Donuts offerings include hot coffee, iced coffee, Cold Brew, flavored coffees, lattes, macchiato, espresso, cappuccino, Dunkin’ Donuts K-Cup® pods, frozen beverages, donuts, muffins, bagels, sandwiches, and a DDSMART® menu featuring better-for-you items.
