Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) Names Caregiver of the Year Vicky-Lee Layden from Sarasota, Florida

Dedicated Home Care Aide Receives Prestigious Honor

WASHINGTON - Oct. 18, 2017 // PRNewswire // - The Home Care Association of America (HCAOA), the leading trade association for the home care industry representing more than 2,500 companies, today announced Vicky-Lee Layden as the HCAOA Caregiver of the Year. Layden is a home care aide for Right at Home in Sarasota, Florida.

The HCAOA honored Layden during a special ceremony at the organization's Annual Leadership Conference in Austin, Texas, this week. Layden received a cash prize of $1,000 in addition to a travel stipend to cover expenses to attend the annual conference as part of her award.

Layden received her Associate of Arts degree in business from Seminole Junior College. She worked for the majority of her career in an office setting until she personally encountered a serious health issue that required assistance to recover, including the dedicated care of CNAs and home health aides. After her personal incident, Layden decided to become a professional caregiver in 2013, driven to give back to others in the same manner she was helped. She has worked for Right at Home in Sarasota for nearly two years.

"Recognizing and honoring caregivers is an important part of HCAOA's overall culture," said Phil Bongiorno, Executive Director, HCAOA. "The Caregiver of the Year award allows us to recognize individuals, like Vicky-Lee, for their extraordinary commitment to the delivery of care to their clients and the families they serve on a daily basis."

"We are thrilled that Vicky-Lee is being recognized for her dedication to caregiving," stated Michael Juceam, the owner of the Right at Home Sarasota office where Vicky-Lee is employed. "Vicky-Lee epitomizes what we call RightCare - the right people doing the right things the right way for the right reason. She makes life better for every client she touches, and we are lucky to have her on our team."
