Twin Brothers Become Franchisors

Expanding Barbershop Business Within Diverse Communities

November 30, 2017 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, NC - Owners/brothers Damian and Jermaine Johnson have exceeded their childhood dream of opening a barbershop by opening multiple successful barbershops, in both North Carolina and Georgia, as well as a barber college in Charlotte, NC. They have worked tirelessly to enhance their business model, assessing and evaluating ways in which to offer a diverse and unique list of services that include their proprietary grooming techniques, client incentive programs, and a line of hair care products for men, women and children.

Two decades later, the decision to venture into franchising seemed like the natural next move for the twin brothers and their business. After thoroughly researching the franchise business model, the Johnson brothers took the proper steps to ensure their business was ready for the transition. In September 2017, as part of their 20 years in business celebration, they announced No Grease, Inc. was selling their Mosaic Village barbershop location in Charlotte, North Carolina to their barber of 18 years, David Powell Jr., officially making No Grease, Inc. the first Black-owned barbershop franchise.
