Pirtek is the only franchise of its kind in the United States, providing hydraulic and industrial hose replacement sales and services. There are 73 Pirtek franchises and a fleet of Mobile Service Vehicles throughout the United States. Globally, Pirtek has more than 400 locations and 2,000 Mobile Service Vehicles in 23 countries.
During 2017, Pirtek put 12 new locations on the map. It was the company’s first full year with its Tier 2 program in place. This model of franchise ownership allows entrepreneurs to start Pirtek locations at a lower cost and quicker time to market. The franchisee who opts for Tier 2 can keep Pirtek inventory in a warehouse or storage facility and lease two Mobile Service Vehicles. Tier 2 also provides a path to Tier 1 ownership for franchisees.
The new model has caught on. In the last quarter of 2017 alone, Tier 2 franchises opened in Columbia, SC; Madison, WI; Corona, CA; and Seattle. Mobile-only Pirtek locations also started up in Austin, TX; Grand Rapids, MI; and in three Florida cities: Daytona, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach.
“It’s hard to overstate the success of the Tier 2 model during the past year,” said Georganne DeSeve, Pirtek USA marketing manager. “The program has made franchise ownership more accessible for a greater number of entrepreneurs, and it’s also allowed existing franchise owners to expand into new areas. This has been a win for everybody involved.”
In addition to last year’s rapid Tier 2 proliferation, Pirtek has opened up Tier 1 franchises with Service & Supply Centers in Orange, CA; Salt Lake City, and the Chicago area. Pirtek’s fleet of Mobile Service Vehicles across the United States has expanded by 40 with the establishment of these new Tier 1 and Tier 2 locations.
All this growth has helped Pirtek achieve a double-digit increase in its percentage of retail sales nationwide.
To keep up with all the positive growth, Pirtek also broke ground on new, expanded headquarters in May 2017. Only a few miles from its current location in Rockledge, FL, the new facility will occupy 10 acres and provide the home office with more than 140,000 square feet of office and warehouse space - five times more room than the current facility. The new headquarters is scheduled for completion in mid-2018.
It was a year of new products as well: Pirtek expanded its line in 2017, adding more than 100 offerings. The products include pressure-wash equipment and major additions to current hose lines. All of Pirtek’s products now appear in a 445-page catalog, the company’s first.
