The Gents Place Closes Out First Year Of Franchising With Impressive Sales Growth And Accelerated Development

Male Grooming & Lifestyle Club receives investment from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Blue Star Innovation Partners

January 22, 2018 // // DALLAS - The Gents Place, a lifestyle club bringing men’s grooming to the next level, announced today strong sales growth and development as the brand closed out a successful first year in franchising. The Gents Place launched its franchise opportunity in 2016 and made great strides in their expansion with the signing of franchise agreements that will bring 11 new locations to markets nationwide including, Austin, Chicago, Houston and San Antonio. The brand also received a significant investment from Blue Star Innovation Partners, an investment venture for growth-stage companies founded by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, which will further fuel development efforts in 2018 and beyond. With four corporate-owned lifestyle clubs open in Dallas and Kansas City and the first franchised location in Chicago, The Gents Place is projected to open an additional 150 locations over the next five years.

The Gents Place reached a milestone this year with the opening of it’s first franchised location in the bustling Chicago Loop, which is owned and operated by franchisee Peter Terracina who also has plans to open a second club in the Fulton River District in 2018. The company’s second franchised location is slated to open in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood in February with multi-unit franchisee Jeff Stocks, who signed a six-unit franchise agreement to develop the concept in and around the Houston area. The Gents Place signed an additional franchise agreement for development in San Antonio with Cecilia Johnson, who is also chief financial officer of Massage Heights Franchising, LLC, which will further expand the brand’s presence throughout Texas. Johnson’s location, which will be the first in San Antonio, will open in the fall of 2018 with plans to expand into neighboring markets thereafter. Additionally, The Gents Place will open its fifth corporate-owned club in February located at 3227 McKinney Ave. in the eclectic Uptown area. Marking the fourth location for the brand throughout Dallas, with another club slated to open in the city later this summer.

It was announced in December that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and chairman of Blue Star Sports Rob Wechsler made a significant investment in The Gents Place. Recognizing the incredible growth potential, Jones and Wechsler plan to leverage their 30 years of business experience, resources and contacts in the world of sports to accelerate the brand’s franchise expansion nationwide.

The Gents Place prides itself on having one of the most unique service menus in the industry, epitomizing the exclusivity of an old-world speakeasy paired with an upscale, welcoming country club atmosphere. Not only can guests enjoy an incredible hair service and shave in the best men’s grooming and lifestyle clubs in town, but also they can take advantage of all of the luxuries of a modern spa. In addition to offering men’s grooming services, The Gents Place is a purveyor of hard-to-find retail goods from all over the world including its proprietary Rascal line of products, Truefitt & Hill, and Lakme, among others.

The company currently has five lifestyle clubs open in Dallas, Southlake and Frisco Texas, Leawood, Kansas and Chicago, with additional locations in development in Texas and Illinois. The Gents Place is seeking qualified franchisees to join the brand and currently has opportunities nationwide in markets such as Texas, Georgia, Florida and Illinois.

Prospective single- and multi-unit franchisees should possess a minimum net worth of $400,000 and liquid assets of at least $175,000. Candidates should have strong business, management and/or marketing experience. Franchisees can expect their initial investment to be between $440,955 – $705,980, including a $40,000 franchise fee. The Gents Place franchisees are provided with an array of tools to position them for success, including franchisee and management training; a proprietary web-based management system; ongoing hands-on training for club employees to learn our unique grooming methods, management and administration of a club; and advertising, marketing and public relations support.
