Rush Bowls Inks Agreement to Develop Three Stores in Dallas/Fort Worth Metro

January 24, 2018 // Franchising.com // BOULDER, Colo. - Rush Bowls - a fast-casual restaurant chain known for its meals-in-a-bowl crafted from the finest fruit, topped with granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients - has signed a multi-unit development deal for the brand’s first three restaurants in Texas, with the first slated to open early 2018.

The development deal comes on the heels of Rush Bowls’ first franchisee-owned location opening in Nashville in 2017, and follows a slew of franchise developments in major U.S. markets, including Missouri, Arizona and Colorado. The three-store agreement will bring Rush Bowls to the Dallas/Fort Worth area with plans to expand the footprint to as many as ten in the market over the next few years. The locations will be owned and operated by husband and wife team Ted and Elizabeth Bachmeier, who are eyeing Dallas, Plano, Denton and Fort Worth for possible spots for the first Rush Bowls store. Elizabeth Bachmeier will serve as the primary owner. The couple also hopes to involve their children in the business.

“Dallas and Denver are similar metropolitan areas. We saw the demand for a vibrant, health-focused, quick-service restaurant in Dallas, and after observing Rush Bowls’ success in fulfilling that need in Denver and Boulder, we knew that this was the solution to what we were looking for,” said Elizabeth Bachmeier. “We are so pleased to have the chance to bring Rush Bowls to DFW, and we look forward to the opportunity to connect with those in our local communities who, like us, are passionate about healthy and delicious food.”

Prior to teaming up with Rush Bowls, Ted Bachmeier, with a background in corporate retail, served as the Executive Vice President of Operations at Michael’s Corporation, a company he stayed with for 23 years. Elizabeth has been and remains a dedicated and active volunteer in the local community while staying home to support the couple’s blended family that includes Jessika, Jordan, Tyler and Kyle. Elizabeth’s passion lies in helping others, particularly in giving underprivileged kids emotional support and a second chance. “I’ve always had a heart for volunteering and helping others, and when I saw Rush Bowls’ model, I knew it would provide me the opportunity to make our community healthier while offering employment opportunities to hard-working young adults who just need someone to believe in them,” Elizabeth Bachmeier said. “We believe that adults and kids alike will love Rush Bowls’ healthy, quick, grab-and-go atmosphere.”

Founded in 2004, Rush Bowls offers meals crafted from all-natural fruit, topped with organic granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients that taste delicious while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Customers can choose from over 30 signature bowls or all-natural smoothies made with fruit, yogurt or acai.

Over the past 13 years, Rush Bowls has cultivated a loyal following with its menu specializing in healthy, all-natural, fruit-blended meals-in-a-bowl for those on the go. Bowls are also available in vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy free options, and anything can be custom made to cater to any and all dietary needs.

“Our number one priority is 100 percent all-natural nutrition, which makes Rush Bowls different from smoothie concepts,” Pudalov added. “Our meals are crafted from the finest fruits and vegetables, we hand-grind our own peanut butter and make our jam in house; we do this to ensure the highest quality and taste for our customers.”

Pudalov added that the brand has nearly 40 Rush Bowls restaurants currently in various stages of development across 10 states with a variety of deals in the pipeline in major markets throughout the United States. Company plans call for having over 20 locations open by the end of 2018.
