British Swim School In Canada Transitions From Corporate To Franchise
Swim Survival School Locations in Greater Toronto Area Become Part of Franchise System
February 07, 2018 // Franchising.com // TORONTO - British Swim School, best known for its education of water safety as an essential survival skill amongst a fun and gentle environment, has transitioned its once corporately-owned territory in greater Toronto to franchise ownership. The territory, which includes four Mississauga locations, has been taken over by Canadian resident and local Panveer Chahal.
British Swim School is a franchise concept and unique water safety program with teaching methods that serve as a trademark for the brand. Based on the premise that children progress at different rates, each child is placed in their correct skill level and will have certain achievable objectives. British Swim School offers a two-step curriculum teaching children and adults of all ages, some as young as three months, water safety and survival skills, along with swimming skill development. British Swim School operates in nearly 200 schools in 20 states within the U.S., and holds around 12,000 lessons per week nationally, and conducted nearly 600,000 swimming lessons in 2017.
According to the National Safety Council, more than 80 percent of drownings occur in residential pools or spas, which further enforces the need for parental supervision as a number one safety measure. In addition, the lessons and formal swim programs such as those offered by British Swim School can help reduce these risks.
Chahal leaves behind a corporate career in accounting in pursuit of a more worthwhile and community-driven endeavor, right within his hometown. Chahal is looking forward to becoming involved within the community and forging likeminded partnerships to further British Swim School’s overall mission.
“As British Swim School’s youngest franchisee, I’m ecstatic to be bringing to the table a fresh perspective and vigor for their mission of promoting safety,” said Panveer Chahal, British Swim School franchisee. “Canada is cold and most assume swimming lessons aren’t essential – but I’m here to breakdown that misconception. Growing up in this area, I want to resonate with the locals and drive home the need for what is an essential skillset.”
