Retail Wrap: Simple Greek Adds To Pearland Dining Options

February 09, 2018 // Franchising.com // The Simple Greek, a creation of Marcus Lemonis inspired by his CNBC reality show “The Profit,” will hold a grand opening at10621 Broadway, Suite 109, in Pearland on Feb. 20. Local franchise partners Rob and Jean McLean and Hugh and Stacy Putman will open the Mediterranean-style restaurant, with about 2,000 square feet and 49 seats, at the northeast corner of Broadway/FM 518 and Texas 288. Designed with the kitchen in view, customers go through a line to build their own bowls, salads and pitas with a selection of gyros, chicken or steak, various toppings, sauces and sides.

“We’re hoping that this is the first of many,” Rob McLean said.

Other Texas locations are in Round Rock and Wichita Falls. More than 30 locations are projected to open this year on top of 15 in 2017.

The Woodlands will add Total Wine & More, Ulta Beauty, Main Squeeze Juice Co. and a Stickhouse gelato-on-a-stick shop at its Lake Woodlands Crossing shopping center in The Woodlands Town Center. The Howard Hughes Corp. recently broke ground on the 62,565-square-foot center at the northeast corner of Lake Woodlands Drive and Grogan’s Mill Road. The project, designed by CDA Architects and built by Arch-Con Construction, is set for completion in late 2018.

My Salon Suite, operated by franchisee Aaron Gillaspie, will expand its Braes Heights shopping center location, 3901 Bellaire Blvd., to 14,000 square feet with 68 suites for hair, nails and salon service professionals. My Salon Suite will also have a site opening this month at the Portofino Shopping Center near The Woodlands, with 35 suites in 7,000 square feet, at 19075 Interstate 45. A 6,000-square-foot location with 29 suites will open at Pasadena’s Market on Crenshaw at 4541 East Sam Houston Parkway in May.

MedExpress Urgent Care plans to open locations at 4750 Fairmont Parkway in Pasadena and 22915 Morton Ranch Road in Katy on Wednesday.

Tilton Healthcare has leased 1,800 square feet in Quail Valley Plaza, 2601 Cartwright, Missouri City. Rafael Melara represented the landlord, Hunington Properties.

Montreal-based Zenda has acquired the 65,000-square-foot Orleans Square Shopping Center at 18321 W. Lake Houston Parkway in the Humble area. Tenants include Dunkin Donuts, Profusion Dance and Mojo’s Sports Grill. Lewis Property Co. represented the buyer. Marcus & Millichap’s Derek Hargrove, Justin Miller and Davis Hansen represented the seller, Orleans Square.

DFS10 Investments has purchased a 1,900-square-foot Starbucks at 7702 Fry Road, Cypress.

Completed in 2017, the building is leased to Starbucks for 10 years. Belvoir Real Estate Group’s Matthew Goldsby represented the buyer. Scott Crowle of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller.
