Award-Winning Cafe To Open In Charlotte

It is one of 12 planned First Watch openings in partnership with Good Morning Carolinas, LLC

February 14, 2018 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, North Carolina - First Watch, the popular breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant with four locations in North Carolina, today announced that it will open its first Charlotte-area restaurant on Monday, February 19, in Matthews. The new 4000-square-foot eatery will open at 7 a.m. at 1643 Matthews Township Parkway and will employ about 25 people.

In conjunction with the First Watch opening, franchise group Good Morning Carolinas, LLC will donate all money raised from a pre-opening event to charity. Proceeds from the event at the company’s new Matthews restaurant will be donated to Matthews HELP Center, which provides short-term assistance to Matthews residents and surrounding communities in financial crisis.

“For years, Matthews has been lacking a truly fresh, innovative, family-friendly breakfast, brunch and lunch spot, and we are honored to introduce First Watch here,” said Keith Sullins, owner of Good Morning Carolinas, LLC. “The decision to partner with an organization like Matthews HELP Center as part of the opening was an easy one to make. We look forward to building lasting relationships with our friends and neighbors here for years to come.”

First Watch’s curated menu takes an elevated approach to traditional and innovative offerings made to order using farm fresh ingredients. It includes crave-able items such as Avocado Toast, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. The new restaurant offers healthy, flavorful favorites like house-made granola and pico de gallo, organic greens, house-roasted vegetables and cage-free eggs as well as more indulgent, traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings.

First Watch in Matthews will also serve the restaurant’s new Project Sunrise coffee, grown by an independent group of female farmers in Huila, Colombia, called Mujeres en Café. The restaurant will also offer options from its Juice Bar - including the best-selling Kale Tonic - juiced in-house daily using only the highest quality fruits and vegetables.

Houston Pizza Venture, the parent company of Good Morning Carolinas, LLC currently owns and operates 110 Papa John’s restaurants in Houston, Phoenix, Oklahoma City and Albequerqe.

First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers customers complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.
