TeamLogic IT Supports IT-Ready in its Mission to Launch New Tech Careers

Leading national managed IT services provider seeks to narrow the U.S. “IT skills gap” by contributing to preeminent charitable training and career placement program.

MISSION VIEJO, CALIF. (PRWEB) MARCH 07, 2018 - TeamLogic IT, a fast-growing technology solutions provider for companies of all sizes, announces their support for one of the nation’s preeminent charitable training and career placement programs, IT-Ready, in an effort to help narrow the U.S. IT skills gap. IT-Ready is administered by Creating IT Futures, the tech workforce charity of CompTIA.org.

“As an industry leader, our goal is to generate $100,000 in contributions for IT-Ready from our rapidly growing network of franchises during the next five years,” said Chuck Lennon, executive vice president of TeamLogic IT, who confirmed the organization now has 136 locations across North America.

The IT-Ready program has the goal to help train and place as many as 1,000 deserving candidates from groups under-represented in our industry per year. “This sizable donation from our organization can help IT-Ready launch family-sustaining careers in technology into the next decade,” Lennon said.

U.S. businesses of all types and sizes face a broadening “IT skills gap,” Lennon explained, as companies transform their operations with digital technologies for cybersecurity, mobility and cloud computing. He cited research by CompTIA, the world’s leading tech association, indicating eight in 10 IT and business executives are at least somewhat concerned with the level of technical skills in their organizations.

“We believe this IT skills gap can - and should - be filled in the short term by motivated people with an aptitude for technology from multiple populations currently under-represented in the IT workforce,” Lennon said. “Candidates from diverse ethnic and racial groups, low-income regions - along with returning veterans, the long-term unemployed, women, and individuals without college degrees - are ready, willing and able today to fill the skills gap in our economy. So, we want to help make them ‘IT-Ready.’”

IT-Ready is a free eight-week classroom-based tech training program for adults developed by Creating IT Futures that imparts the knowledge and skills needed for a successful IT career in a matter of weeks, and then connects participants to employers.

“We’ve been creating opportunities and launching IT careers since 1998,” said Charles Eaton, CEO of Creating IT Futures. “The generosity of TeamLogic IT will help IT-Ready continue as one of America’s most effective job training and placement programs. All IT-Ready courses are underwritten by grants and financial donations, so that students can attend classes for free.”
