The Dog Stop Set to Wag Its Way to Northern Dallas
All-inclusive dog care facility franchise signs agreement for three locations in North Dallas.
April 17, 2018 // Franchising.com // PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Dog Stop - an award-winning, all-inclusive dog care facility offering daycare, boarding, grooming, obedience training, in-home services, dog walking, and retail store - has signed a franchise agreement for the development of three locations throughout Northern Dallas.
While no leases have been signed, the first location is expected to open mid-summer in the Collin County area. The Pittsburgh-based franchise plans to open as many as 10 total locations throughout the Dallas metro area over the next several years.
“At The Dog Stop, we understand that dogs are more than just pets - they’re members of the family,” said Brian Prevost, a former financial analyst who will own and operate the store with his wife, Shea, a healthcare marketing executive. “We’re excited and proud to cater to local dog owners with a business that’ll make any tail wag!”
The Dog Stop’s clean, safe, 100% climate controlled facilities feature premium boarding accommodations, social and interactive daycare experiences, spa-like grooming retreats, in-home services, and a retail store featuring premium dog food, treats, toys and accessories. Other features include separate and secure play areas for dogs of all sizes and energy levels, including outdoor space with special anti-microbial?turf "grass".
Unlike many of its competitors, The Dog Stop charges a flat standard fee, no matter the breed or size of the dogs. However, for those owners who prefer a more tailored experience for their dogs, the “Dog Stop Delights Program” offers extra activities such as cuddle time, one-on-one play, leash walks, training sessions and puzzle time.
While the Prevosts are quick to acknowledge other dog-centric stores in the area, they believe The Dog Stop has a unique combination of offerings not found in the area.
“There are a lot of other great pet businesses in the area,” Shea said. “What sets us apart are our full-service grooming, the Delights Program, an indoor and outdoor play area, a daycare and boarding or training. We’re really a one-stop-shop that any dog parent would hope to find!”
Today, there are 12 locations open and operating in five states, with more than 40 additional stores in various stages of development across the country.
