Bruster’s Real Ice Cream Starts Scooping New Cookie Butter

Popular new flavor featured with ultra-decadent Butter Brickle for May

May 02, 2018 // // PITTSBURGH - Bruster’s Real Ice Cream has introduced its new, limited-time Cookie Butter flavor. A spiced cookie ice cream with cookie butter ribbons that’s sure to butter up taste buds. For the month of May, it is being featured with another Bruster’s favorite, Butter Brickle, salted caramel ice cream combined with the crunch of chocolate-covered toffee bits.

“Cookie Butter is gaining popularity,” said Jennie Brinker, Vice President of Marketing. “It is rich and decadent, making it a perfect fit for our menu.” Brinker added that it is a great complement to long-time favorite Butter Brickle. “We’re out to show that Bruster’s and these treats are “Butter than the Rest!”

Bruster’s Ice Cream is made the old-fashioned way, with slow kettle processing designed specifically to create the Bruster’s flavor. Its home-style mix is delivered fresh from its dairy to each store where small artisan batches are made daily by Certified Ice Cream Makers. Along with its renowned ice cream, Bruster’s is famous for its free doggy sundaes, popular with guests and their pets.

The chain, long a mainstay in the Eastern and Southern U.S., is in the midst of an aggressive expansion strategy, focusing on West and Southwest markets.

The brand has commitments for more than 30 new restaurants, with 15 scheduled to open this year. Four are under construction in San Antonio and Dallas, Texas; Stockton, California and Hagerstown, Maryland.

In 2017, Bruster’s recorded its fourth consecutive year of same-store sales increases. Total cumulative sales growth was just under 25 percent for the four-year period.

Bruster’s Real Ice Cream features 150 flavors of premium, handcrafted ice cream, yogurt, Italian ice and sorbet. Starting with a proprietary, home-style mix delivered fresh from its dairy, Bruster’s Certified Ice Cream Makers in each shop craft at least 24 flavors every day. There are nearly 200 independently owned locations in 20 states, Guyana and South Korea.
