Robin Autopilot™ Completes Strategic Funding to Expand Robotic Mowing Franchise Nationwide

May 24, 2018 // Franchising.com // Dallas, TX - Robin Autopilot™, the world’s first robotic lawn mowing service, announced it has closed a $1 million round of financing to grow a nationwide network of franchises and provide franchise owners with attractive financing terms on the most reliable robotic mowers on the market.

“Our mission is to make lawn maintenance more reliable, affordable, and eco-friendly for consumers,” said Justin Crandall, CEO of Robin Autopilot. “With over 1 million robots now safely mowing lawns in Europe, the time has come for U.S. consumers to benefit from this proven technology as part of a complete lawn maintenance service.”

Robin Autopilot has been featured on ABC’s Shark Tank, CBS This Morning, and as part of TechCrunch Disrupt’s Battlefield for their unique robotic mowing service. The company combines proven robotic mowing technology, with high-quality professional edging/trimming crews, all for a price less than traditional gas-powered mowing. The battery-powered service also has a significant positive impact on the environment.

MTD Products Inc led the financing and was joined by several new and existing Robin investors including Ken Murphy, former CEO of Mattress Firm. MTD, a proven leader in the outdoor power equipment industry, manufactures and distributes residential robotic mowers under their Cub Cadet, Robomow and WOLF-Garten brands.

"We are strong believers in the future of robotic mowing," said MTD CEO Robert Moll. “Given the millions of U.S. consumers that outsource lawn maintenance, the full-service model offered by Robin will be key to driving adoption in this market.”

In just its first year, Robin installed over 200 robotic mowers in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Robin has also filed multiple patents related to a robotic door that allows the mowers to drive through fences while keeping pets and kids safely inside. The company recently awarded its first franchise in Kalamazoo, Michigan and will be adding a significant number of locations this Summer.

Robin is actively looking for franchise owners nationwide.
