British Swim School Dives Into World's Largest Swim Lesson As Silver Sponsor

Swim Survival School Locations Across North America Partake In International Event

June 21, 2018 // Franchising.com // Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. - British Swim School, best known for its education of water safety as an essential survival skill amongst a fun and gentle environment, is participating system-wide in the World's Largest Swim Lesson on Thursday, June 21. To further draw attention to the importance of teaching children to swim as a key component in the prevention of drowning, the franchised swim school is supporting this initiative through silver sponsorship.

The ninth annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, created by the World Waterpark Association in 2010, is a global event supported by aquatic facilities, waterparks, pools, swim schools, and YMCAs, among others, and serves as a platform to build awareness about the fundamental importance of teaching children to swim. Since inception, more than 236,000 children and adults have participated in World's Largest Swimming Lesson events, which holds the current Guinness World Record™ for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson conducted at multiple venues.

As a silver sponsor, British Swim School's contribution to the event includes building awareness of and driving participation to the event, along with acting as a host site at its nationwide locations for the lesson to take place. According to the National Safety Council, more than 80 percent of drownings occur in residential pools or spas, which further enforces the need for parental supervision as a number one safety measure. In addition, the lessons and formal swim programs such as those offered by British Swim School and encouraged by World's Largest Swim Lesson can help reduce these risks.

“Participating in the World's Largest Swim Lesson is something that we at British Swim School have continually engaged in year after year, as it aligns with our ultimate mission to save lives” said Rita Goldberg, Chief Executive Office and Founder of British Swim School. “We want to reach as many people as possible with our messaging, and are a passionate supporter of World's Largest Swim Lesson. If even one life is saved through this important initiative, it will have been worth it!”
