Rascal House Bolsters Executive Team
Hires Restaurant Veteran Michael Tusberg
June 26, 2018 // Franchising.com // CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland-based fast food chain Rascal House - known for its pizza, burgers, fries, subs, salads, wings and tasty munchies all under one roof - is bolstering its executive team as part of its overall expansion strategy. Michael Tusberg, with 15+ years of restaurant experience, has joined the team as Director of Operations, effective March 2018.
In his new role, Tusberg will improve and support Rascal House’s growth plans by streamlining operations, enhancing processes, improving training, developing new ideas, as well as menu creation and management of operations.
“I am thrilled to join the Rascal House and continue its charge to expand within and beyond Cleveland,” said Tusberg. “With 40 years of business experience, Rascal House has the foundation for true and lasting growth, and I’m looking forward to working with the rest of the team to propel the brand to new heights.”
Prior to teaming up with Rascal House, Tusberg worked for Au Bon Pain for seven years, serving as a district manager. Tusberg also worked for powerhouse Chipotle for eight years, working his way up from general manager to district manager and opening 40 stores with the brand. A Columbus native, Tusberg’s first job was at Taco Bell while he was a student at the Ohio State University.
“What I love most about the restaurant industry, and what I’m most excited about with Rascal House, is that we can change people’s lives,” added Tusberg. “Whether we are promoting someone to District Manager, giving them their first job, seeing them become an owner through franchising or simply putting smiles on customer’s faces, a restaurant can and should make a positive impact on other’s lives.”
Founded in 1980 by CEO Niko Frangos’ parents, Rascal House prides itself on being “a different kind of pizza place.” While handcrafted pizza made with homemade dough and sauces is no doubt the cornerstone of the Rascal House menu (more than 2.1 million pizzas served and counting), other food offerings include a variety unseen in the pizza industry - from burgers, subs and wraps to salads, wings and other tasty munchies.

He is passionate about the brand and the industry as a whole and I believe he will be instrumental in our operations as we continue to expand. Currently, there are five Rascal House restaurants open and operating in the Cleveland area. According to Tusberg, company plans call for 20 locations over the next few years throughout Ohio and into the surrounding states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.
