PROSHRED® Kansas City Raises over $30,000 for Charities Through Community Shredding Events

PROSHRED® Kansas City Proudly Announces Raising More Than $30,000 to Date in 2018 Through Various Shred Events to Support Charities

KANSAS CITY, KAN. (PRWEB) July 17, 2018 - PROSHRED® Kansas City, the premier on-site document and hard drive shredding company, has raised more than $30,000 so far in 2018 through the company's various community shredding events. Originally, this effort got started when the company began accepting donations at their free shredding events, with those donations going to support various local charities and not-for-profit organizations.

“Growing up in Kansas City I was very familiar with the large number of charitable organizations that were in need," said Todd McCullough, franchise owner at PROSHRED® Kansas City. "In 2007 we began accepting donations for various local not-for-profits, and it was amazing how people were willing to donate $5 or $10 per box or bag of paper to help out.”

What started as three events in 2007 has grown to now exceed 25 events a year, and most of those events accept donations. “We are now partnering with various local companies, municipalities, and charitable organizations to promote the events and raise as much as we can for various not-for-profits,"McCullough said. "One great example is the annual Shred Cancer event supporting our relationship with American Institute for Cancer Research."

On June 2, PROSHRED® held an event at its office location. Participants brought documents for shredding and electronics for recycling. After the three-hour event, PROSHRED® had collected $3,200 for this great cause in Kansas City alone. PROSHRED® hopes to exceed $50,000 from each of its locations across the country.

PROSHRED® is not always directly involved in the collection and disbursement of donations, so it is difficult to know exactly how much has been raised over the years. Based on what is known, the annual donations received from the events to support various causes total well over $30,000. The donations have gone toward organizations that support causes ranging from implementing a special needs program at a local school to raising funds for an animal shelter.
