theCoderSchool Continues Texas Expansion

Silicon Valley-based children’s coding franchise comes to Austin

August 27, 2018 // Franchising.com // Palo Alto, CA - theCoderSchool - recently identified as one of Entrepreneur magazine’s hottest brands - is set for further expansion in Texas. The school - which aims to show the next generation of kids how inspiring and exciting technology can be - is set to open its first Austin metro location this fall.

The new school - located at 3616 Far West Blvd. Suite 109 - will be owned and operated by Amy and Fahd Pirzada. The couple - who met teaching coding and value the critical thinking skills that coding teaches - saw a need for the concept in the Austin metro area, and are excited to fill that void in their community.

“We are thrilled to introduce theCoderSchool to Austin,” said Amy. “Learning how to code is extremely empowering and has the ability to take children to new heights mentally and creatively. Not only is coding a career path, but it opens doors by teaching kids to discover, reason, and create. Through theCoderSchool’s 2-on-1 approach to teaching and project-based, customized curriculum, we look forward to getting kids coding at an early age.”

Since learning to program in high school, Amy has wanted to teach children how to code because it is fun and empowering. With this goal in mind, she pursued her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education and Computer Science. During her graduate studies, Amy met Fahd when they were both teaching college freshman to code in C++.

Fahd currently leads product management at HotSchedules, and Amy recently worked at Oracle and Deloitte to enable businesses with technology. They have lived in Austin for 15 years and are excited to bring theCoderSchool to their vibrant city, so kids in Austin can learn to code and change the world.

Founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng, theCoderSchool was built with the desire to provide children aged 7 to 18 years with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills. theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript and more. Every Code Coaching lesson is customized with the help of trained Code Coaches® who use a 2-on-1 approach to teaching.

“As we continue to expand our presence throughout Texas, it’s critical to find the right franchise partners who are truly passionate about setting kids up with a positive, life-long relationship with technology and coding,” added Lynn. “This is why we couldn’t be more excited about welcoming Amy and Fahd to theCoderSchool team. Amy and Fahd care deeply about this mission, and we are confident they will bring our level of commitment to kids and parents in Austin and show the community just how fun learning to code can be.”

theCoderSchool is also a proud founding member of the International Alliance of Youth Coding Educators. The IAYCE is an alliance of global partners whose goal is to further coding education for youth around the world.
