Beloved Greek Drive-Up Restaurant to Carve Up Twist on Quick-Service Mediterranean with Washington Expansion

August 30, 2018 // Franchising.com // CAMAS, Wash. - The Hercules of Greek cuisine, The Gyro Shack, has announced an upcoming location that will bring its signature gyros to East Vancouver and Camas. The restaurant, opening in late fall 2018 and situated at 315 NE 192nd Ave., Suite 306, in Union Station will expand the brand’s authentic Mediterranean favorites into East Vancouver.

Known for its customized Greek gyros and zesty sauces, The Gyro Shack is undertaking an Odyssey in Vancouver in order to share a menu fit for Mt. Olympus with local foodies. The new location will feature an indoor seating area. Owned and operated by Vince Carich and Tim Martens, a locally based entrepreneurial team that also owns and operates The Gyro Shack location in Hazel Dell, The Gyro Shack on the East Side will be the second location in the area.

“The response from Vancouverites to our first restaurant has been overwhelming, and has shown that our unique Greek cuisine fits right in with what people want to eat here,” said Carich, co-owner of The Gyro Shack of Camas. "Our new location in Union Station is the perfect opportunity for more people in Vancouver to discover their favorite fresh, authentic gyro on our menu."

In addition to Carich’s franchising background, Martens has more than 20 years in food service, including owning several successful wine bars.

“We know East Vancouver will be hooked the first time they try our fresh, imaginative menu,” said Seth Brink, vice president of operations and development at The Gyro Shack. “Vince and Tim are passionate about our concept and our menu, and they’re the perfect team to introduce more locals to The Gyro Shack. We can’t wait to hear folks in Camas yell ‘Opa!’”

The Gyro Shack in Camas will keep customers’ time a top priority by providing a face-to-face window service and made-to-order gyros with meat carved Off the Spit® and fresh ingredients piled high before customers’ very eyes.

Gyro offerings at the Camas location will range from the traditional to the extraordinary, such as the BLT and the Spicy Bacon Avocado. Vegetarian lovers of Mediterranean fare will also find plenty to tempt their palates, including a veggie gyro, Greek salad, and hummus and pita. The tzatziki and spicy green sauce are a delicious way to top off any order to perfection.
