Angry Crab Shack Donates Over $50,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital

Arizona-based seafood restaurant continues its efforts to give back to the local community

October 12, 2018 // // Phoenix, Ariz. - Angry Crab Shack, a leading full-service Cajun seafood restaurant specializing in boiled seafood flavored with signature sauces, is giving back to the community with a donation of $26,000 to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital during their KTAR Give-A-Thon. The donation comes as part of the brand’s larger campaign which has raised $52,000 for the hospital over the past nine months.

“As an organization that embraces families, giving back to the community has always been a priority for our restaurants and our company as a whole,” said Ron Lou, founder of Angry Crab Shack. “Phoenix is our home and the community has been incredibly supportive to us over the years. The donations towards the Phoenix Children’s Hospital help to propel our community’s next generation and go towards helping those children in need.”

The $26,000 donation presented at the Give-A-Thon on August 16 included $16,000 raised throughout the restaurant’s third quarter in-store campaign. As part of its goal to give back to the Arizona community, Angry Crab vowed to donate $1 from each Cajun French fries, which have temporarily been renamed Phoenix Children’s Fries, and root beer float sold to the hospital. The campaign continues at all Angry Crab Shack locations through November.

"Angry Crab Shack has stepped up in a major way for Phoenix Children's Hospital," said Steve Schnall, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation. "The restaurant's ongoing support for the children in our community allows Phoenix Children's to continue to provide the absolute best care to the patients at our hospital."

Angry Crab Shack has seven locations throughout Arizona each dedicated to enhancing the community and providing delicious, fuss-free seafood in an upbeat environment. The restaurants offer fresh seafood by the pound, flown in from the East Coast, Ecuador and the Pacific, coated in its proprietary Cajun Asian-style spice blends and sumptuous sauces. Part of its community atmosphere, guest enjoy picnic-style eating and are encouraged to “tag” the walls before departing.
