Painting with a Twist Blends with Bottle & Bottega, Acquisition Marks DIY Art Industry’s First

Bottle & Bottega Co-Founder and CEO, Nancy Bigley Joins Painting with a Twist as Chief Operations Officer

October 18, 2018 // Franchising.com // NEW ORLEANS - Painting with a Twist, the original and largest paint and sip franchise, announced today the acquisition of Bottle & Bottega, an art and wine concept with 20 studios in nine states. This strategic merger marks the DIY art industry’s first and cements Painting with a Twist’s position as the DIY art segment’s largest and most established brand.

This strategic acquisition allows for a scalable approach to growth, adding resources to Bottle & Bottega franchisees and continuing Painting with a Twist’s strong growth trajectory in key markets, such as Chicago, Portland and Northern California. Utilizing Painting with a Twist’s economies of scale, all studios will capitalize on the innovation Bottle & Bottega brings to this industry. Its most recent effort with the National Hockey League and the Chicago Blackhawks has raised awareness of an important revenue stream in team building activities. While strengthening core systemwide operations, leaders of Painting with a Twist and Bottle & Bottega are aligned to be a force of innovation impacting the future of the DIY art industry.

“It was important for us to consolidate with a partner that recognizes our deep commitment to the DIY art sector,” said Painting with a Twist CEO Joe Lewis. “Bottle & Bottega shares this responsibility as an original pacesetter in the category with a strong record of consistent growth and innovative services. Together, we plan to amplify our strengths throughout the franchise system to best position us for long-term prosperity and continued delivery of an unparalleled experience to our guests.”

To assist in facilitating a smooth transition through the acquisition, Painting with a Twist bolsters its leadership roster by adding seven-year paint and sip industry veteran and Bottle & Bottega Co-Founder and CEO, Nancy Bigley as Chief Operations Officer. Bigley has a strong background in franchise operations and executive leadership having worked with Dunkin’ Brands, American Leak Detection and The Dwyer Group. She is tasked with integrating the brands and increasing operations support and profitability to all of the combined system’s studios.

"Painting with a Twist recognizes the unlocked potential of the DIY art industry and its core values directly correlate with Bottle & Bottega’s culture, business and processes,” said Bigley. “With strategic studio placement and ongoing franchisee support, we’ll continue to bring art to communities nationwide."
