British Swim School Makes A Big Splash In North San Diego County

Water Safety and Survival School Announces Two New Locations In Vista And Oceanside, Calif.

October 24, 2018 // Franchising.com // Carlsbad, CA - British Swim School, a franchise concept best known for its education of water safety as an essential survival skill amongst a fun and gentle environment, is continuing its nationwide expansion with two new pool locations just north of San Diego, Calif. in Vista and Oceanside. The locations officially opened to the public in July 2018 but are being celebrated through a special grand opening on Oct. 27, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Calavera Hills Community Park in Carlsbad, Calif. The Halloween-themed celebration will include a costume contest, games, trick-or-treat station, and a visit from the famed “Bubble Man” from the beaches of Carlsbad. Special discounts and promotions will be offered at the grand opening celebration. The event will coincide with the school’s quarterly survival week where students wear clothing over their suits to become familiar with the feel of being in water in their clothes. This is to prepare them for an accidental fall into a body of water.

The new locations are run by husband and wife duo, Emily and Justin Healy. The Healys were looking for a business that aligned with their family values and could include their children in the important lessons of running a business. British Swim School, as they found, allowed them to enhance their personal and family lives while serving the local community. As residents of Carlsbad, they saw a true need in the market for premium swim lessons and are thrilled to bring such a valuable service to the residents of North San Diego County.

“The tagline of British Swim School really caught my attention and pulled on my heartstrings. Survival of the Littlest. That is a mission I can get behind,” said Emily Healy, British Swim School franchisee. “To prevent drowning means preventing grief and heartache. Teaching people of all ages and abilities to swim enhances their confidence and happiness. What’s not to love?”

British Swim School offers a three-part curriculum teaching children and adults of all ages, some as young as three months, water acclimation, safety and survival skills, and swim stroke development. While parental supervision is always the number one safety measure, research shows that participation in formal swim programs, such as those offered by British Swim School, can reduce the risk of drowning by 88 percent among children who are most at risk for deaths caused by drowning.

The British Swim School franchise concept operates a unique water safety program with teaching methods that serve as a trademark for the brand. The company offers lessons out of multiple national fitness chains and hotel pools year-round, based on the premise that children progress at different rates. Each child, regardless of age, is placed in their correct skill level and will have certain achievable objectives. British Swim School operates in nearly 200 schools in 21 states within the U.S., and holds nearly 14,000 lessons per week nationally, and conducted nearly 600,000 swimming lessons in 2017.

The two new British Swim Schools are located at AllStar Physical Therapy at 1922 Hacienda Dr., Vista, CA 92081, and at L.A. Fitness at 2335 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92054.
