7-Eleven® Stores Roll Out Exclusive 'Super Snack Time' Jerky Flavors from the Epic Meal Time Guy
IRVING, Texas - Dec. 13, 2018 // PRNewswire // - Carnivore extraordinaire Harley Morenstein, co-founder of YouTube hit food show "Epic Meal Time," is big on meat, especially bacon. So when he set out to start a snack company, the first product was the epic meat snack - jerky. Now 7-Eleven® stores are introducing two new exclusive jerky flavors from Morenstein's Super Snack Time company - Uncured Bacon Jerky in a Bag and Taco Beef Jerky in a Bag.
The two limited-time exclusive products have creative flavor profiles matching the flair of the dishes Morenstein creates on Epic Meal Time. Suggested retail price for the Uncured Bacon Jerky in a Bag and Taco Beef Jerky in a Bag is $6.99 per bag.
- Uncured Bacon Jerky in a Bag - Sweet Sriracha Style is described as having a sweet smoky blast and scores medium hot on the heat meter featured on the package front. Uncured bacon jerky is mixed with sweet sriracha sauce, tamari soy sauce, honey and ginger. With 16 grams of protein per serving, the bacon jerky has no added nitrates, nitrites or MSG.
- Taco Beef Jerky in a Bag - Carne Asada Style scores low on the heat meter and contains 20 grams of protein. Premium beef jerky is tossed in fresh cilantro with added brown sugar, orange juice and lime juice for extra zest.
"When it comes to new items to introduce, our product development team is always looking for ideas that are out-of-the-box - or in this case, in the bag," said Fareed Siddiqui, 7-Eleven senior product director. "That's exactly what Harley has done, re-creating two of America's favorite foods in jerky form, and I think customers are going to love them."
With 7 million subscribers, Epic Meal Time was one of the first viral food sensations on YouTube. The show's concoctions for carnivore-lovers are epic - real BIG. The Canadian cooking show debuted in 2010 and has had 1 billion views across social media. Morenstein and friends host weekly episodes. Morenstein created Super Snack Time to bring his crazy food ideas to the masses.
"I'm excited to debut these two new jerky flavors at 7-Eleven," said Morenstein. "Bacon In A Bag lets you enjoy thick, juicy pieces of bacon, glazed in a sweet sriracha sauce, anytime, anywhere, while Taco In A Bag gives our fans the convenience and savory flavors of carne asada while on the go."
Participating 7-Eleven stores are also carrying Pizza Pepperoni Jerky in a Bag in two flavors.
Suggested retail price for the premium Pizza Pepperoni Jerky in a Bag is $4.99.
