Honor Yoga Sets Intentions on Further Growth

Launches Franchise Opportunity to Expand From East to West

December 18, 2018 // Franchising.com // Lawrenceville, New Jersey - Honor Yoga, known as an eco- and beginner-friendly yoga studio and community that welcomes and nourishes every yogi to thrive in their practice, has set its intentions on expansion. Looking to stretch its yoga experience to more communities, the New Jersey-based brand launched a franchise opportunity to introduce Honor Yoga to new markets nationwide.

Having blossomed to ten studios in New Jersey, Honor Yoga has 15 additional locations under development across five states, including North Carolina, California, Florida, Ohio and further development in New Jersey, with plans to open approximately 20 studios per year. By 2023, Honor Yoga hopes to have 100 studios open and operating.

“Yoga is the most popular alternative health approach in the United States, with approximately 37 million adults practicing, and the number is projected to continue growing to over 55 million by 2020. With yoga’s increasing popularity, Honor Yoga emerges as a differentiator from other studios in that it provides a welcoming space for every yogi,” said Maria Turco, founder and CEO of Honor Yoga. “We are not centered as a fitness brand, rather we focus on the holistic wellness approach through the practice of yoga and meditation. Our class offerings like roots, calm and strong, flow, aerial, yogabarre and meditation are more aligned with a lifestyle and mindfulness brand, and are accessible to all, which is what makes Honor Yoga what it is.”

Backed by 25 years of extensive and varied experience in the health and wellness industry, Turco accomplished her 500 hours to become a certified yoga instructor and saw an opportunity to take on box-like yoga studios and flourish in the fitness and wellness arena. She founded Honor Yoga in 2013 to help others achieve their greatest potential through the teachings of yoga.

Honor Yoga’s mission is to provide welcoming, beginner-friendly and accessible yoga studios where healthier and happier communities can be built around the practice of yoga. Focused on the five pillars of yoga - physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social health - Honor Yoga offers a variety of classes to fit into each individual’s diverse lifestyle and schedule. From gentle, roots, calm and strong, slow flow, flow, power flow, aerial, yogabarre and meditation, each class is designed to fulfill the five pillars of yogic practice to relax the mind, restore balance, and build strength and flexibility. Honor Yoga also offers online streaming yoga classes.

Furthermore, each studio is consciously designed with the environment in mind. The living and breathing space honors the body, spirit and environment through a living vertical garden, bamboo floors as a wood substitute, safe cleaning products, and reusable retail products, among other design elements.

“Yoga serves as a catalyst for self-growth and discovery,” added Turco. “Honor Yoga’s five pillars of yoga is designed to provide a complete yogic experience, encouraging each individual to live healthier and happier. Yoga is not just about the individual - it’s about the greater community, which is why we place a focus on eco-friendly design and encourage recycling and reusing as much as possible. Yoga connects you with your inner self and the outer world.”

In its dedication to bettering the larger world, each Honor Yoga studio donates to a 501c3 program in their area, from scholarships to special projects like children battling cancer. Additionally, for every new member that joins the Honor Yoga family each month, the corporate team donates $1 to the Honor Yoga Foundation. Turco, herself, donates 20 percent of her salary to the foundation.

“Giving back is in Honor Yoga’s DNA, and will be evident in each new market we enter,” noted Turco.

To augment its growth, Honor Yoga is looking for passionate yogis and business professionals looking to cultivate healthier and happier communities. Including a franchisee fee of $49,108, due upon signing, the total investment to own a studio is $146,608-$270,608. Each studio is approximately 2,400-3,400 square feet and employs 10 to 15 full- and part-time employees.
