Rush Bowls Set To Bring Healthy Meals-On-The-Go to Charlotte

January 24, 2019 // Franchising.com // Boulder, Colo. - Rush Bowls - a fast-casual restaurant chain known for its meals-in-a-bowl crafted from the finest fruits and vegetables, topped with granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients - is coming to Queen City.

Located in the heart of NODA at 416 E. 36th St., the new store is slated to open in spring 2019 and will be one of three locations in Charlotte to be owned by local couple Ben and Karen Wilhelm.

“We are thrilled to bring Rush Bowls to Charlotte,” said Ben. “Charlotte is booming and is one of the fastest growing cities in the US, with young professionals and families looking for ways to stay healthy in today's hectic and fast-paced lifestyles. We were drawn to Rush Bowls for its innovative, healthy and nutritious meals. We are excited to be launching this new offering in our growing community.”

Following a 25-year career in construction, Ben started his own consulting practice, working in leadership development and executive coaching, along with teaching at a local university. An active community member, Ben has served on a dozen non-profit boards including 24 Foundation and the Harris YMCA. Karen has worked as a successful attorney and financial planner. No strangers to entrepreneurship, the Wilhelms founded several businesses together before exploring franchise ownership with Rush Bowls.

“Rush Bowls was a perfect fit for us and the idea of serving whole, sustainable and healthy food to a young population compelled us to bring the brand to our home community,” added Karen. “It’s fun and rewarding to grow an emerging brand because there is nothing like Rush Bowls in our area.”

Founded in 2004, Rush Bowls offers meals crafted from all-natural fruit, topped with organic granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients that taste delicious while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Customers can choose from over 40 signature bowls or all-natural smoothies made with fruit and vegetable bases, including acai, kale and avocado.

“Our number one priority is 100 percent all-natural nutrition, which makes Rush Bowls different from other grab-and-go concepts,” Andrew Pudalov, founder and CEO of Rush Bowls, noted. “Rush Bowls’ meals are crafted from the finest fruits and vegetables, with fresh toppings like organic granola, hand-grinded peanut butter and jam made in-house to ensure the highest quality and taste for our customers.”

Over the past 15 years, Rush Bowls has cultivated a loyal following with its menu specializing in healthy, all-natural, fruit-blended meals-in-a-bowl for those on the go. Bowls are also available in vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy free options, and anything can be custom made to cater to any and all dietary needs.

Currently, the brand has 98 Rush Bowls restaurants currently in various stages of development across 16 states and Canada, and a variety of deals in the pipeline in major markets throughout the United States.

“Rush Bowls is experiencing rapid growth. Charlotte, a community that is vibrant with a heathy lifestyle focus, is a natural fit for the brand,” added Pudalov. “We are excited to have Ben and Karen lead us into the Charlotte market with their new store in NODA.”
