Dale Carnegie Training Soars To New Heights On Entrepreneur Magazine’s 40th Annual Franchise 500® List

Professional Development Franchise Ranked #1 in the Training Programs Category

January 28, 2019 // Franchising.com // MELVILLE, NY - Dale Carnegie Training announced today that it has been named to Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list, considered the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking. Dale Carnegie Training has been rated first in the Business Services section in the Training Programs category and ranked in the top third among all franchises.

The prestigious award validates the progress the company has made in the past year. In 2018, Dale Carnegie Training refreshed its franchise system with several new territory owners as a way to revitalize the brand and its network, bringing the total to nearly 230 territories in 82 different countries.

“We are honored to receive this ranking,” said Jean-Louis Van Doorne, Chief Franchise Advocate at Dale Carnegie Training. "We look forward to building upon this growth in 2019, as we form new relationships, expand our footprint in both new and existing markets, and offer our existing franchise partners continued support.”The key factors that go into Entrepreneur’s evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. All franchises are given a cumulative score based on more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order.

“As we celebrate 40 years of producing the Franchise 500, it’s a good opportunity to step back and look at how much has changed since that first ranking in 1980,” says Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur. “While the franchise business model has changed little, the strongest franchise brands are constantly evolving and innovating to keep up with changing trends and technology.”

Through a diverse training curriculum offered in-person or online, Dale Carnegie Training continues to adapt to the ever-changing needs and challenges of the modern business world. Though the form of the delivery may evolve, the timeless insight and guidance brought to Dale Carnegie customers every day is still rooted in the continuity of core human motivations. Individuals and organizations return to Dale Carnegie Training because its impact is long lasting. Franchise partners can leverage curriculum and training tools that target successful behavioral and emotional connections that result in lasting transformation. Dale Carnegie believes the power to change corporations and communities lies in impacting people on a personal level.

Entrepreneurially spirited individuals interested in owning a Dale Carnegie franchise should have a minimum net worth of $500,000 and at least $150,000 in liquid capital, depending on the size and location of the territory. The start-up cost to open a Dale Carnegie business varies depending on the individual revenue targets of a territory, but it on average costs 20 percent lower than the investment for other businesses in the industry.

Over its 40 years in existence, the Franchise 500® has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchise partners. Dale Carnegie’s position on the ranking is a testament to its strength as a franchise opportunity.
