Honor Yoga Stretches Into Ohio

Booming yoga franchise set to expand into the greater Cleveland-Akron metro area

January 28, 2019 // Franchising.com // Lawrenceville, New Jersey - Honor Yoga, known as an eco- and beginner-friendly yoga studio and community that welcomes and nourishes every yogi to thrive in their practice, has set its intentions on expanding in Ohio. Looking to stretch its yoga experience to more communities, the brand is opening at least three studios across the Cleveland-Akron metro area.

Located at 2755 W. Market St. in Fairlawn, Ohio, the first 3900 square foot studio is slated to open in late-spring 2019, followed by locations planned for Strongsville and Brecksville. The three Northern Ohio studios will be owned and operated by Independence, Ohio native Rinette Scarso.

“I am so excited to spread Honor Yoga’s mission in Ohio,” said Scarso. “As the metro area continues to grow and the population becomes increasingly wellness-minded, I knew there was a need for a beginner-friendly studio. I hope to provide an encouraging community that offers yoga practices for every person.”

Scarso is no stranger to yoga practice. As a fitness instructor for 19 years, she has taught various cardio and weight training classes, including BodyPump, HITT and PIYO classes. With a successful 30+ year career in IT consulting and fitness background, Scarso wanted to expand her wellness portfolio. Once her first Honor Yoga studio opens and begins offering yoga teacher training, she plans to become an RYT certified yoga instructor herself.

“Fitness, and specifically yoga, can transform your life, both physically and mentally,” added Scarso. “I’ve seen the positive impact of the practice and knew I had to show others how powerful it is. With a wide-array of classes from power flow to roots to aerial yoga, there are many different formats and avenues for others to discover yoga.”

Founded by fitness industry veteran Maria Turco, Honor Yoga’s mission is to provide welcoming, beginner-friendly and accessible yoga studios where healthier and happier communities can be built around the practice of yoga. Focused on five pillars– physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social health – Honor Yoga offers a variety of classes to fit into each individual’s diverse lifestyle and schedule. From gentle, roots, calm and strong, slow flow, flow, power flow, aerial, yogabarre and meditation, each class is designed to fulfill Honor Yoga’s five pillars of yogic practice to relax the mind, restore balance, and build strength and flexibility. Honor Yoga also offers online streaming yoga classes.

Furthermore, each studio is consciously designed with the environment in mind. The living and breathing space honors the body, spirit and environment through a living vertical garden, bamboo floors as a wood substitute, safe cleaning products, and reusable retail products, among other design elements.

“Yoga serves as a catalyst for self-growth and discovery. Rinette’s strong experience in fitness, understanding of the power of yoga and desire to help others live healthy, will help her successfully introduce Honor Yoga to the greater Cleveland area,” added Turco. “We are thrilled to have Rinette join our family and look forward to watching her carry our mission in Ohio.”

Honor Yoga currently has 25 studios in various stages of development across six states, with plans to open 20 additional studios each year. By 2023, Honor Yoga expects to have 100 studios open and operating.
