Jessica and Rickey Wilson open a Brightway Insurance Agency in Safety Harbor, Fla.

The Wilsons opened the doors to Brightway, The Wilson Agency in early January.

January 28, 2019 // Franchising.com // SAFETY HARBOR, FLA. - Residents in and around Safety Harbor now can experience a better way to buy insurance for their homes, vehicles and much more. Husband and wife team, Rickey and Jessica Wilson, opened Brightway, The Wilson Agency in Safety Harbor earlier this month.

“I love talking about insurance, how it works and why you need it,” said Jessica Wilson. “During my tenure in underwriting leadership, I spent a significant amount of time visiting with appointed agencies - independents and franchises. Time and time again it was clear to me that the Brightway Agency Owner had the advantage. They spent time educating their customers on the product, and I was consistently impressed with their customer interaction. While exploring my own ambitions to be an Agency Owner, Brightway was an easy choice for me. Brightway allows me the opportunity to share my passion with others while building my dream!”

Rickey Wilson added, “My wife and I were looking for an opportunity to help local consumers, grow an organization that our children could one day manage and operate and have fun doing all of it. Through our research and evaluation of different opportunities, we found great value in the multifaceted approach Brightway offers.”

A 2000 graduate of Palm Harbor University High School, Jessica went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla., and a Master of Science in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. She brings nearly 20 years of insurance experience to Brightway and most recently served as General Manager of the Homeowners division at The Hearth Insurance Group.

Born and raised in the Sunshine State, Rickey also graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master of Business Administration. He is a Certified General Contractor, Certified Home Inspector, Licensed Realtor and a Licensed Insurance Adjuster, has a 2-20 Property and Casualty Agent License and brings more than 20 years in the real estate and construction industry to Brightway.

The Wilsons live in Palm Harbor, Fla., with their three children. On those rare occasions when they have spare time, Jessica enjoys playing the violin, serving on the Worship and Arts team at Palm Harbor United Methodist Church, boating and paddle boarding. She also volunteers with the local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops and on the PTA at Lake St. George Elementary School and Palm Harbor Middle School, both located in Palm Harbor. Rickey shares Jessica’s love of being on the water, along with fishing, working out and spending time with family. He also volunteers on the Advisory Board for the Pinellas County Economic Development Council and on the Advisory Board for the Greater Palm Harbor YMCA. As Brightway Agency Owners, the Wilsons look forward to bringing together resources and providing more choice and expert counsel to help their friends and neighbors in the Tampa Bay area.
