World’s Largest Popcorn Franchise Retailer Adds a Spicy Kick with POP-sabi! Flavor

February 11, 2019 // Franchising.com // PADUCAH, Ky. - Winter may be in full-force, but POP-sabi! has arrived to heat things up! Doc Popcorn, the world’s largest fresh-popped popcorn franchise retailer, is adding wasabi to its list of unique ingredients used in limited-batch flavors. POP-sabi! is available now at participating Doc Popcorn locations nationwide and online until April 30.

Inspired by the bold and spicy flavors from the wasabi plant well-known in Japanese cuisine, the new POP-sabi! popcorn offers guests a fiery treat to kick-up the intensity of their snack. The spice and sweetness of the limited-batch flavor is a daring addition to the menu for those who are adventurous. The new flavor can be mixed and matched with Doc Popcorn classic flavors, such as Better Butter or Cheesy Cheddar to cool it down.

“Wasabi is usually paired with Sushi, but we couldn’t wait to get on our hands on the plant and make it our own. By pairing the wasabi heat with the crunch of popcorn and a touch of sweetness, we’ve created a new treat for our guest to enjoy,” said Martin Azambuya, Chief Operating Officer of Doc Popcorn. “We’re excited to introduce this heat-intense flavor, kicking-up our temperatures as we brave through winter!”

POP-sabi! is available in addition to Doc Popcorn’s gourmet flavors including Klassic Kettle, Sinfully Cinnamon, Triple White Cheddar, Sweet Butter, Cheesy Cheddar, Better Butter, Caramel Bliss®, Hoppin’ Jalapeno and Salt-n-Pepper. Flavors vary by season and location. As a better-for-you snack option, Doc Popcorn creates its own proprietary flavor blends using high quality ingredients free of trans fat, MSG, artificial colors and preservatives.

Doc Popcorn has mobile carts, kiosks and in-line stores around the world.
