Established Maryland chain seeks to put first Beyond Meat cheesesteak on Mars (Plant Based Protein)

February 27, 2019 // Franchising.com // Gaithersburg, Maryland - In 2018, Jerry’s Subs and Pizza launched Beyond Meat Burgers and Cheesesteaks to great results. Recognizing the benefits of plant-based protein products along with Beyond Meat’s increasing support from several prominent figures, including Microsoft’s Bill Gates and actor Leonardo DiCaprio. The CEO of Jerry’s, Eli Chediak, doesn’t want to just help change our blue planet, he wants Jerry’s to be first on Mars with Beyond Meat products.

Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, was quoted in a 2018 SXSW conference saying “ be the first subs and pizza shop on the red planet, using popular plant-based products. “Elon, you mentioned you were looking to put a pizza shop on Mars. Look no more, Jerry’s is it!

And we’re bringing Beyond Meat Cheesesteaks with us! When’s the flight?” Chediak tweeted out to Elon Musk.
