Illustrious childhood art education program draws plan for success with new territory transfer

March 12, 2019 // Franchising.com // VANCOUVER, B.C. - Young Rembrandts has etched its name as British Columbia’s leading childhood art enrichment program with the recent transfer of the territory to a new franchisee, bringing its proprietary art education curriculum to more kids in Vancouver.

Now under the local ownership of Virginie St-Jean, the Young Rembrandts territory serves Vancouver and the surrounding suburbs. This territory expansion builds on the momentum of a sensational national campaign celebrating the brand’s 30th anniversary in 2018, positioning Young Rembrandts to become the recognized leader in art education in the area.

“Young Rembrandts already has an excellent, trusted reputation in Vancouver and I’m looking forward to expanding the business to bring its proven curriculum to even more kids in the area,” St-Jean said. “I’ve always loved art, and the chance to run a child-based business from my home that has such measurable positive impact like Young Rembrandts is an incredible opportunity. It is also a flexible, environmentally friendly business concept that I’m proud to offer in my community.”

A unique art enrichment program that solely focuses on cognitive development through drawing, Young Rembrandts is based on the belief that there is a strong correlation between preschool and elementary involvement in the arts and future strong academic performance and personal achievement. Young Rembrandts of Vancouver is currently in 35 local schools, with plans to expand into North and West Vancouver.

St-Jean joins Young Rembrandts with an extensive background in customer service, human resources and graphic design. After studying animation drawing and the history of art in university, she has gone on to run her own home-based graphic post card business for the past 10 years. She plans to use her business acumen and passion for visual art to help more kids in Vancouver develop fine motor skills, confidence and learn art history.

“Every time we have a new franchisee joining our family, we have the opportunity to showcase the passion and dedication our franchisees bring to the students and communities they serve. I know Virignnie will continue this legacy,” said Bette Fetter, founder and CEO of Young Rembrandts. “Her commitment to expanding programming in Vancouver for local children will ensure Young Rembrandts’ remains a crucial partner in helping children develop cognitively and discover their inner artist in British Columbua.”

The Vancouver transfer is part of the brand’s strategic growth initiative, as Young Rembrandts targets 20 to 25 additional signed agreements through 2019.

Through its unique methodology that gives kids the confidence to create skilled artwork, Young Rembrandts helps boost cognitive development, hand-eye coordination, spatial learning and critical thinking skills. Students are able to learn a new technique and complete an exceptional piece of artwork within a single class period.
