theCoderSchool Sets Sights on International Expansion

National coding school looks to expand into Canada

March 27, 2019 // Franchising.com // Palo Alto, CA - theCoderSchool, whose motto is “Learn to code. Change the world,” is looking to go international. The school - which aims to show the next generation of kids how inspiring and exciting technology can be, is looking to expand their presence into Canada.

The brand’s founders Hansel Lynn and Wayne Teng plan to open numerous theCoderSchool locations throughout Canada over the next several years. The company is eyeing Ontario and surrounding provinces for its expansion.

“Canada presents an opportunity for theCoderSchool to take its mission international,” Lynn said. “Since our launch in 2014, we’ve seen tremendous growth across the country and have seen cities from St. Louis to Buffalo embrace our schools and our mission. We are thrilled to be able to impact even more students and to create a global community through our schools.”

Founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng, theCoderSchool was built with the desire to provide children aged 7 to 18 years with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills. theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript and more. Every Code Coaching lesson is customized with the help of trained Code Coaches® who use a 2-on-1 approach to teaching.

“As we continue to expand our presence internationally, it’s critical to find the right franchise partners who are truly passionate about setting kids up with a positive, life-long relationship with technology and coding,” added Lynn. “We care deeply about our mission, and we are thrilled to be able to show students in Canada just how fun learning to code can be.”

There are currently 30 theCoderschool locations across 11 states with a variety of deals in the pipeline in major markets throughout the United States.

theCoderSchool is also a proud founding member of the International Alliance of Youth Coding Educators. The IAYCE is an alliance of global partners whose goal is to further coding education for youth around the world.
