ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (PRWEB) June 04, 2019 - One River, a company built to transform art education in America, today announced it will officially open its newest location, in Westport, CT on June 15 - its first studios in the state of Connecticut. The Westport location is the 12th campus for One River, which began franchising in 2017. Opening Day will include a ribbon cutting, art activities, tours, refreshments, and $50 off any summer camp and/or the first month of classes.

The opening weekend will celebrate the artistic nature of Westport and will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon featuring local dignitaries, including the town’s First Selectman Jim Marpe and Matthew Mandell, the Executive Director of the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce. Festivities include art activities, tours, and meet-and-great opportunities with the school’s teachers. Those who attend the June 15 celebration will receive $50 off both their first month of classes or any summer camp. Free art workshops will be held on June 16, and summer camps open on June 24. To register for camps or classes, or for more information, call (203) 557-6677.

“We are thrilled to open in Connecticut; Fairfield County has long been an artistic and cultural leader in America and we are excited to bring our fun and compelling art and design experience to Westport,” said Matt Ross, Founder and CEO of One River School. “We know that children, teens and adults exposed to art instruction do better academically and professionally and it’s my belief that we simply don’t exercise our minds enough. The impact One River has generated within our communities has been astounding and Westport is now our 12th location amidst a plan to open many more.”

One River has developed a proprietary curriculum that provides a 360-degree perspective of art that teaches through the lens of living artists. This approach of introducing new art students to today’s most compelling artists has unleashed confidence and creativity in tens of thousands of students.

“Growing up in Westport, I was always grateful to be part of such a vibrant arts community,” said the Westport school’s Director Alyson Luck, a Westport native who earned art degrees at the University of Michigan and Bank Street. She has also worked for 13 years at the Jewish Museum and the Guggenheim Museum. “I am thrilled to be launching this incredible art school in my hometown, especially knowing the positive impact One River has made on thousands of people in other locations. We are also excited to share a preview of the JJ Manford exhibition which includes a new body of work from one of the most interesting emerging artists in the country.”
