Local business professional, Richard Spencer, brings established home inspection brand to the region

June 13, 2019 // Franchising.com // AUBURN, AL - HouseMaster, the first and most experienced home inspection franchise in North America, announces the opening of a new location in Auburn, Alabama, owned by NIBI-trained and Alabama licensed home inspector Richard Spencer.

Spencer brings more than 30 years of experience as a retired system’s engineer, manager and executive with Electronic Data Systems / Hewlett Packard Enterprises. He worked with the Department of Defense, CIOs and CTOs to migrate business environments into the cloud. Spencer managed the P&L, contract requirements and negotiations, delivery for the services being provided, personnel/HR management, business development, sales and marketing. All of these skills readily translate into running his new home inspection franchise business.

Spencer chose to open a HouseMaster franchise after doing his due diligence and researching other franchise opportunities. He has been around the home building business for many years (an older sibling was a homebuilder in Florida and another sibling is a structural engineer in Florida) and he connected with HouseMaster’s implementation of technology in running the franchise - it was a natural fit given his tech background.

“I am looking forward to continuing to bring the implementation of technology and its application and benefit to the home inspection business to the forefront for the benefit of buyers in my region,” Spencer said. “Ultimately, I want to help ensure that the buyer is getting what they need from a home inspection and also provide them some benefit beyond just getting a home inspection. Richard Spencer’s wife Cindy is co-owner and works on day-to-day operations and marketing the business.
