Local Latin American Kitchen Holds Symbolic 6.27 Celebration

PINCHO Celebrates Brand History with $6.27 Burger and Beer Special Promotion

June 26, 2019 // Franchising.com // MIAMI - PINCHO, the renowned Miami-based Latin American Kitchen, is celebrating the brand’s start with a symbolic $6.27 deal, commemorating the brand’s unconventional start. With only $6.27 left in their bank account when the brand launched, PINCHO is honoring its humble beginnings by offering a pincho burger and 627 ale for $6.27. On Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at all nine PINCHO locations.

The pincho burger is the most popular burger that has won over fans’ taste buds for years with its crispy potato sticks and secret pincho sauce. In addition, PINCHO has developed its own craft beer - 627 Ale - to never forget its beginnings.

“PINCHO originally started off as an idea that I shared with my cousin Nedal Ahmad at a Fourth of July barbeque,” said Otto Othman, the CEO and co-founder of PINCHO. “Ahmad was unhappy with his work situation and I told him that he should quit his job and we should open our own restaurant using my mom’s skewer recipe and his burger recipes.”

A couple of days later, Ahmad called Othman back after eyeing real estate. The pair cobbled together $77,000 between themselves, family members and a small loan. PINCHO was in the making. The duo together with Nizar Ahmad spent nearly every night for four months at Ahmad’s house talking about the concept and taste testing the future menu items.

Around the first of November 2010, Ahmad called Othman and told him that they needed to open that Saturday due to the fact that they had only $6.27 left in the bank. They were weeks away from opening and had so much more that needed to be done. They didn’t have staff, plates or even training manuals. Othman’s birthday is November 4th, so they threw a birthday party for him at PINCHO to train the very few employees they had with a mock service. They opened up that Saturday with more than 400 people eagerly wanting to try the new concept.
