Glory Days Grill® Continues East Coast Expansion With New Development Agreement

July 22, 2019 // Franchising.com // Gaithersburg, MD - Glory Days Grill, a sports-themed casual dining family restaurant chain operating 34 corporate and franchised restaurants in Florida, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and West Virginia, signed a Development Agreement with Carolina Performance Food Group, LLC (CPFG) with plans to open 8 Glory Days Grill restaurants in the following markets over the next several years: Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Fayetteville, North Carolina. CPFG’s agreement includes options to develop additional territories in North Carolina.

CPFG is co-owned by Robert R. Stafford and King Hospitality Inc. CPFG has engaged the services of J. Carl Manning and Kathleen Huff to spearhead the development and operation of its Glory Days Grill restaurants. Mr. Stafford was among the first multi-unit franchisees of Jiffy Lube, operating 35 locations in North Carolina and 5 surrounding states before he sold the business to Pennzoil. He subsequently partnered with J. Carl Manning and became a multi-unit franchisee of IHOP with locations in Holly Springs and Spring Lake, North Carolina. In addition to a franchisee, Mr. Stafford has been a successful private real estate developer for over 40 years. Mr. Manning is the recipient of IHOP’s A-Platinum Letter Grade for 2018, placing him in an elite group of IHOP operators.

Kathleen Huff has been employed for over 15 years by Glory Days, Inc., the company which operates 21 company-owned Glory Days Grill restaurants in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. She began her career at Glory Days Grill as a teenager working as a host, server, and bartender before leaving to attend college at UNC Wilmington. After college, Huff became the Assistant Manager at the Glory Days Grill in Winchester, Virginia before accepting the position of Managing Partner for the Glory Days Grill in Stone Ridge, Virginia, a role she maintained for nearly 11 years. Huff’s marketing savvy and operational excellence will be a strong asset to CPFG and a testament to how hard work is rewarded within the Glory Days Grill family.

Jeff Newman, President of Glory Days Franchising Company (GDFC), said “We are excited to continue our North Carolina expansion with CPFG. Huff will serve in the capacity of the franchisee’s Key Operator and will be responsible for the day to day operations of all CPFG’s restaurants. Having one of our seasoned Managing Partners overseeing their North Carolina growth and development is a win-win for CPFG and Glory Days Grill.”

CPFG has recently begun its site selection process and anticipates that the opening of their first restaurant will be in the Raleigh, North Carolina market.
