Local In-home Senior Care Company Also Hiring Caregivers Set to Bring 50 New Jobs to the Area

August 22, 2019 // Franchising.com // RICHMOND, VA - Senior Helpers®, one of the nation’s premier providers of personalized in-home senior care, recently announced the opening of its new Richmond West location. Senior Helpers of Richmond West joins an existing Senior Helpers location in the area, Senior Helpers of Greater Richmond. The new Senior Helpers Richmond-West location is locally owned and managed by Paul and Susie Mincey. The new franchise will serve senior citizens, veterans and the disabled along with their families, throughout the western half of Richmond from Ashland to Emporia. This area includes the Westend, Southside, and Tri-cities areas, as well as Ashland, Doswell, Glen Allen, Goochland, Louisa, Manakin Sabot, Chesterfield, Chester, Midlothian, Moseley, Powhatan, and parts of Henrico and Richmond. It hopes to bring more than 50 new jobs to the region over the next year. Senior Helpers’ professionally trained caregivers will help local seniors continue to enjoy the comfort of their own home despite age-related illnesses and mobility challenges.

“We were drawn to Senior Helpers by the quality services it offers, and the potential to be a part of a company that is known as the first in the industry to provide specialized caregiver training in Alzheimer’s, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease care,” said Paul Mincey. “Our team is proud to provide a valuable resource to our community by helping to alleviate the stress associated with caregiving and ensure a better quality of life for families through personalized in-home care.”

The management team is well equipped to provide high-quality care to seniors and their families throughout the area. Paul has over 17 years of medical sales and management while Susie has been caring for the community as a registered nurse for over 30 years. The Minceys have also enlisted the help of Donna DiGuardi, who will serve as the Business Administrator of the Richmond-West location. With over 15 years of managerial experience in home health and assisted living, DiGuardi is managing all aspects of the business’ operations.

Senior Helpers operates with a vision to be the leading home care company in each community it serves. Its caregivers in Richmond-West are trained to offer the highest level of care possible based on the company’s Senior Gems® Alzheimer’s and dementia care program. As the gold standard for excellence in personalized in-home senior care, the program was developed in conjunction with nationally recognized dementia care expert Teepa Snow, Positive Approach, LLC. Local residents will also benefit from the company’s Parkinson’s Care Program, a specialized training program for their caregivers created in conjunction with leading experts from the Parkinson’s Foundation’s Centers of Excellence network.

“We’re pleased to welcome Paul and Susie Mincey to our team as the newest Senior Helpers franchise owners,” said Peter Ross, chief executive officer, Senior Helpers. “They bring a passion for their community and an understanding of the importance of in-home senior care to their new roles. This will serve them well and be rewarding for seniors and families living in Richmond and the surrounding area.”
